This is the first of several sets of photos chronicling the progress of work on the room. The corner where the Kachelofen will be installed starts with the video/technology cabinet as is found in all the standard Cathedral classrooms.
5-21-11 Only the suspended ceiling has been removed.
7-2-11 Chalkboards are gone, but asbestos abatement hasn't begun yet.
7-14-11 Cabinet wiring is prepared for cabinet removal.
8-18-11 Asbestos abatement is complete; cabinet is gone. Note how ceiling is completely exposed.
8-26-11 Metal framework is installed. To this framework, the over-hang, which supports the frieze and molding, will be affixed, as will the plywood backing and finally the wall paneling. Note the plywood underfloor can be seen.
9-7-11 The plywood backing for the frieze and molding is attached. The overhang ends up being deeper than I had envisioned. Note metal framework for the ceiling has yet to be installed.
9-16-11 Both the metal framework for the ceiling and the wood for attaching Richard Sink's finished lattice ceiling-work are now in place.
9-28-11 The plywood foundation for the final wall paneling has put in place in preparation for the visit of Ambassador Francois Barras.
